Nasarawa United head coach Kabiru Dogo is turning to the “god of soccer” in hopes of reviving his side’s disappointing campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
A 3-2 loss to Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium has further compounded the woes of the Solid Miners, who remain at the bottom of the NPFL standings.
Despite the setback, Dogo found positives in his team’s performance, particularly in their resilience against the Naze Millionaires.
“It was a very good game, and anyone who watched it will confirm it was of a high standard,” Dogo said after the match in Owerri. “We played well, but unfortunately, the result didn’t go our way.”
The former Kwara United coach acknowledged his team’s ongoing struggles, citing their dominance in possession but lack of fortune in key moments.
“Unfortunately, we’ve not been lucky in any game we’ve played this season. There’s no match we’ve played badly, but we’ve just not been lucky,” Dogo reflected.
With a touch of optimism, he added, “Let’s pray that the ‘god of soccer’ will be with us in our subsequent games.”
Looking ahead, Nasarawa United will face Lobi Stars in the North Central derby, where Dogo and his team will be eager to turn their fortunes around and improve their league position.
