NPFL: Kwara United duo ruled out of derby clash with Nasarawa United

By Wale Mustapha

Kwara United will be without two key players when they face Nasarawa United in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 12 fixture on Sunday.

The Harmony Boys will make the trip to the Lafia Township Stadium without forward Issa Adeshina Gata and winger Akeem Akanni, both sidelined through injury.

Gata sustained a knock during a training session earlier in the week, while Akanni picked up a hamstring injury in the club’s last outing against Remo Stars.

Head coach Ashifat Suleiman, who has guided Kwara United to an impressive run since taking charge, will now have to make tactical adjustments as his side aim to extend their unbeaten streak.

Both players are expected to recover in time for the team’s next fixture against Shooting Stars in Ilorin next weekend.

Kwara United currently sit eighth on the NPFL table with 16 points from 11 matches.
