NPFL: Majin Mohammed reflects on Niger Tornadoes draw at Sunshine Stars
By Wale Mustapha
Acting head coach of Niger Tornadoes, Majin Mohammed feels the aggressive pattern of defending was instrumental to his side’s impressive display in a 0-0 draw against Sunshine in Akure on Saturday.
The Ikon Allah Boys forced their hosts to a stalemate in the Nigeria Premier Football League clash as they continue to rediscover their lost form.
The hosts were the better side in the opening half with their swift moves and wing play but could not transform it into goal but Tornadoes grew more in confidence in the second period but could not outshine the Owena Whales.

And Tornadoes acting coach Mohammed makes positive reflection on the result and his side’s display on the day.
“We are happy with the result and I give kudos to the players for a job well done,” Mohammed told media.
“Our plan was to frustrate them, stiffen the spaces and sent them from getting to through us, we were very aggressive with it and firm in defense.
“It’s a strategy and whatever strategy you deploy it’s either to win or draw and sometimes even lose the match, so for today it favoured us, we are able to pick a point with it which is plus for us and we will like to see how this will continue to help in other games.”
Tornadoes have moved to 13th on the log and will be hosting Katsina United in their next match.
