NPFL Matchday Four Wrap: Plateau United end Remo Stars’ unbeaten run as Enyimba go top

The 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) served up plenty of drama on Matchday Four, with Plateau United grabbing their first win of the season and Enyimba climbing to the top of the table.

At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United shocked reigning champions Remo Stars with a 2-0 victory. Tarabina Biweribo and Mafeng Pam struck in the second half, while Stanley Joseph’s 81st-minute red card compounded the visitors’ woes.

The win marked Plateau United’s first of the campaign after three straight losses.

In Yenagoa, Enyimba International FC defeated Bayelsa United 2-0, with goals from Chidera Michael and Kalu Nweke.

The result pushed the People’s Elephant to the summit of the standings on eight points.

Warri Wolves 0-0 Kwara United: A goalless affair with few chances at the Warri City Stadium.

Nasarawa United 1-0 Wikki Tourists: Garba Muhammed’s 37th-minute effort sealed a hard-fought win.

Kano Pillars 1-0 Rangers International: Veteran forward Ahmed Musa provided the match-winner.

Rivers United 1-0 Shooting Stars: Ubong Friday’s strike proved decisive in Port Harcourt.

Khun Khalifat 3-1 El Kanemi Warriors: Newcomers Khun Khalifat impressed again, thanks to Ebuka Nwokorie’s brace and Onuorah Onyedikachi’s goal. Ebuka Okoro netted a consolation for El Kanemi.

Ikorodu City 2-0 Barau FC: Joseph Arumala and Ayomide Cole were on target for the Lagos outfit.

Abia Warriors 1-0 Katsina United: Alaibo Somiari’s lone strike secured maximum points in Umuahia.

Bendel Insurance 1-0 Niger Tornadoes (Saturday): Emmanuel Israel struck late to hand the Benin Arsenal victory.

Enyimba sit atop the log on eight points, level with Rivers United but ahead on goal difference. Warri Wolves, Wikki Tourists, Nasarawa United, and Remo Stars are close behind on seven points.

At the bottom, Barau FC remain winless with two points, alongside Shooting Stars. Plateau United’s win lifts them to three points, just behind Rangers and Kano Pillars on four.
