NPFL MD 31 Wrap: Remo Stars capitalise on Rivers slip as Shooting surrender two goal lead against El Kanemi

Remo Stars increased their lead at the top of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) log to eight points after a 2-0 win over Enyimba FC at the end of matchday 31 on Thursday.

Goals in each half from Olamilekan Adedayo and Samson Olasupo lifted the Sky Blue Stars in maintaining their good home record.

In Enugu, Plateau United pipped host, Rangers International FC 1-0 thanks to Suleimon Mojereola’s strikes.

Up North, Shooting Stars surrendered first half 2-0 lead to settle for a 2-2 draw at El Kanemi Warriors.

Gideon Monday and Sodiq Ibrahim had propelled the Oluyole Warriors to a 2-0 lead in the first half.

The host came back in the second period thanks to Daniel Barnabas and Suleiman Alabi’s goals.

In Uyo, Akwa United defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-0 as Felix Okoye and Abson Mare found the back of the net for the Promise Keepers.

Overall, Remo Stars top the log with 60 points after 30 games, eight points ahead of Rivers United with 52 points despite playing a game less than their closest rival.

Abia Warriors (50 points) and Shooting Stars Sports Club (47 points) complete the top four teams.

At the other end of the log, Lobi Stars seats bottom of the table with 23 points from 30 games behind Sunshine Stars (34 points), Heartland FC (35 points), and Nasarawa United (36 points).
