Interim Head Coach of Lobi Stars, Tony Bolus, remains optimistic about his team’s chances of avoiding relegation in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, despite their current position at the bottom of the table.
Lobi Stars are struggling with just 23 points from 30 matches, and with only eight games remaining, many pundits have written them off as relegation candidates.
However, Bolus insisted that there is still hope, emphasizing that the team will continue to fight until the final whistle.
Speaking after his side’s 2-0 loss to Abia Warriors in their Matchday 31 fixture in Umuahia on Wednesday, Bolus expressed confidence in his team’s efforts and resilience.
“We are fighting in all games. You can see that the boys are not playing badly. You can say that the team will go on relegation, but that is your own opinion. We can survive because nothing is impossible,” Bolus said.
Despite the setback, the former Rangers coach is determined to push his team forward and will be looking to turn their fortunes around in the remaining fixtures.
