Matchday 34 of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) gets underway with three games as Remo Stars ended their five-match winless streak against Kano Pillars on Saturday.

The previous head-to-head encounters between the Sky Blue Stars and Sai Masu Gida showed that the Kano-based side has won three with two draws.

Ahmed Akinyele headed home the opener for the host in the sixth minute with the goal separating each side after the first period.

Salisu Mustapha equalised for the visitors three minutes into the second half

With the clash approaching a draw, Remo Stars captain, Nduka Ugbade scored the winning goal in the additional minutes of the second half.

Remo Stars thus picked their first win in the top flight over Kano Pillars and moved to the second position with 59 points, a point behind Rangers International which will face Sporting Lagos.

Elsewhere, Musa Usman’s 28th-minute goal handed Doma United a 1-0 victory against Lobi Stars which occupy the fifth position.
Doma United is in the 14th position with 43 points.

In Benin City, second-half goals from Chisom Okereke and Evans Iyebi Ogbonda lifted Bendel Insurance to a 2-0 triumph over Katsina United.
