Enugu Rangers’ new signing, Nenrot Silas, is determined to start his career with the club on a high note as he looks to make his debut in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) against Sunshine Stars on Sunday.
The experienced midfielder, who joined Rangers this season, is part of the squad for Matchday Six of the NPFL, with the clash set to take place at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode.
This will be the 20th encounter between the two sides in the top flight, with Rangers holding a favorable record, having secured eight victories compared to Sunshine Stars’ four wins, while seven of their previous meetings ended in draws.
Silas is optimistic about the match and believes the team is in good shape to achieve success and the midfielder is keen to play his part in what could be a pivotal game in their title chase.
“I am really glad to be in Rangers, a very big club with high prospects,” Silas said in an interview with Rangers’ media. “I want to be part of history by making a big contribution towards retaining the trophy, and this starts with this weekend’s game in Ijebu-Ode.”
Silas is aware that the NPFL is a long season, but his immediate focus is on securing the maximum points in the upcoming fixture. “Sure, the league is a marathon, but we have our eyes on getting the maximum points because we have been working so hard, and I believe that with the help of my teammates, we can achieve our goal,” he added.
The Flying Antelopes will be looking to build on their strong start to the season and continue their push for the title, while Sunshine Stars will be aiming to challenge Rangers and secure a crucial victory at home.
For Silas, Sunday’s match presents the perfect opportunity to make an immediate impact in his Rangers debut and take the first step towards a successful campaign with the club.
