NPFL: Nurudeen Aweroro eyes first win with Shooting Stars vs ex-club Ikorodu City

By Wale Mustapha

Shooting Stars Technical Adviser, Nurudeen Aweroro, has declared that victory is the only target when his side face Ikorodu City on Sunday in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, carries extra significance for Aweroro, who joined the Oluyole Warriors after leaving Ikorodu City at the end of last season.

Despite the emotional undertone, the young tactician insists his focus is firmly on delivering three points for his new team.

“This is a very important match for me. They know my style of play, but it is all about winning the match,” Aweroro told journalists at the pre-match press conference.

“Our mentality is to win, and we need three points.”

Shooting Stars are still searching for their first win of the NPFL season, and Aweroro is confident that Sunday’s contest presents the perfect opportunity to kick-start their campaign in front of their home fans.

Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
