Kwara United Technical Adviser Tunde Sanni has expressed confidence that his side will secure their first victory of the season when they face newly promoted Kun Khalifat in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash in Ilorin.
The Harmony Boys have endured a frustrating start to the campaign, taking just one point from their opening two fixtures against Ikorodu City and Rivers United.
Sanni admitted the results were disappointing but revealed that the team has worked hard to address its weaknesses ahead of the must-win home tie.
“We are approaching this fixture with the seriousness it deserves. Our focus is to deliver a strong performance and start picking points without delay,” Sanni told the club’s media.
“We are not happy with how we started the season, but we’ve been able to work on the grey areas and I believe we will be much better from now.”
Currently placed 16th on the NPFL log with just one point, Kwara United will be hoping to turn their season around in front of their home fans, with Sanni urging his players to seize the momentum early.
