NPFL: Rangers were second best in defeat to Lobi Stars, admits Fidelis Ilechukwu
By Wale Mustapha
Technical Adviser of Enugu Rangers, Fidelis Ilechukwu insists his side were consumed by the technical brilliance of Lobi Stars in their 2-1 loss to the Pride of Benue on Thursday.
The Flying Antelopes went into the Nigeria Premier Football League clash against Lobi on the back of their impressive comeback win over Kano Pillars last weekend hoping to replicate the form.
However, goals from Alao Danbani and Stanley Ogabor for Lobi Stars left Chidiebere Nwobodo’s goal a mere consolation for the Enugu-based outfit and Ilechukwu feels a draw would have been fair for his team.
“It was a very good game that we could have come out with at least a point,” Ilechukwu told media.
“Our opponent showed top quality to contain us but have a lot of positives to pick from it. We have to go back and prepare for our next game and give it all we have to ensure that our supporters smile in the end.”
Rangers will be hosting Heartland in an Oriental derby on Sunday at the Awka City Stadium.
