NPFL: Stanley Eguma admits difficulties in Rivers United win over Enyimba

Technical Director of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma has disclosed that his side were made to labour for their 2-0 win over Enyimba FC in the rearranged Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL clash on Tuesday.
A goal in each half from Deputy Echeta saw the CAF Confederation Cup campaigners claiming the match points.
Eguma who commended his boys for their mental alertness and determination through the match, admitted that Enyimba proved they were truly league champions with their character.
”It was a good game and I appreciate the players for their efforts,” he told the media.
“The game against Enyimba is always a cracker every day, they are the defending champions and they proved it today. They gave us a good run for our money and the players live up to expectations.
“The game was explosive as expected, we swung into action early in the game and got an early goal.
“The second goal came and we have the opportunity to increase our tally but we failed to take our chances”, he said.
Rivers will continue in their engagement to clear other backlog of outstanding games, next with a visit to Ibadan where they will be taking on Shooting Stars over the weekend.
