NWFL: Bayelsa Queens sign teenage sensation Chidi Harmony on loan

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Bayelsa Queens FC have confirmed the signing of Chidi Harmony from Imo Striker Queens FC on loan ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.

The exciting 15-year-old attacker was officially unveiled on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the club’s house in Yenagoa.

Harmony, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s brightest young prospects, played a key role in the success of Imo Striker Queens, where her prolific goal-scoring form earned her recognition from scouts and analysts across the globe.

Discovered at the maiden Soccer Queens Cup, Harmony helped Imo Striker Queens gained promotion from third tier NWFL Nationwide to the Championship.

She painted the Judith Chime Championship (formerly Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup) with goals during the maiden and second editions in Asaba, Delta State capital.

At just 15, Harmony announced herself on the international stage by finishing as the top scorer in the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, netting 12 goals, including two hat-tricks.

She remarkably scored in every match of the qualifying campaign — a testament to her consistency and clinical finishing.

Her arrival is expected to bolster Bayelsa Queens’ attacking options as the reigning NWFL Premiership champions aim to defend their league title in the new campaign.
