NWFL Matchday 13: Remo Stars Ladies Hit Five as Bayelsa, Abia Extend Strong Form

Matchday 13 of the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership delivered thrilling action on Wednesday, April 1, with decisive victories, late drama, and standout individual performances across multiple centres.
In Uyo, Ibom Angels edged Rivers Angels 1–0, courtesy of Mariam Okocha’s early seventh-minute strike, which proved enough to secure all three points.
Abia Angels continued their impressive run with a 2–0 win over Nasarawa Amazons in Aba. Winner David opened the scoring in the 36th minute before Chinaza Enuma doubled the lead early in the second half.
In Ibadan, Bayelsa Queens left it late to defeat Pacesetter Queens 1–0, with Glory Edet netting the decisive goal in the 80th minute.
There was late drama in Makwada as Adamawa Queens and Edo Queens settled for a 1–1 draw. Atume Doosuur had put Edo Queens ahead in the 82nd minute, but Katon Waken converted a stoppage-time penalty to earn a share of the spoils.
Heartland Queens recorded a comfortable 2–0 win over Naija Ratels in Owerri. Faith Samson opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Oluebube Umejiaku added a second to seal the victory.
In Lagos, FC Robo Queens defeated Dannaz Ladies 2–0, with early goals from Opeyemi Ajakaye and Esther Onyenezide ensuring maximum points.
Confluence Queens also secured a 2–1 win over Delta Queens in Iyamho. Ijeoma Ibe and Marvelous Ebube gave the hosts a comfortable lead before a late response from Temitope Aweda.
The standout performance came in Ikenne, where Remo Stars Ladies thrashed Osun Babes 5–1. Hannah Ibrahim bagged a brace, while Chiamaka Ojialor, Blessed Isigbo, and Kehinde Deborah were also on target in a dominant display. Ebunoluwa Akinola scored the consolation for Osun Babes.
With crucial points secured across the board, the latest results further intensify the race for top positions as the NWFL Premiership season continues to gather momentum.
