NWFL Premiership: Confluence failed to react on time against Dannaz – Sabo Okala

By Saheed Afolabi
Confluence Queens head coach, Sabo Okala says his side failed to react as at when due during their 4-2 loss to Dannaz Ladies at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
Late two goals was not enough to salvage a point as the Lokoja based outfit bowed to their hosts in Lagos in the rematch of a first leg 0-0 draw in Iyahmo in November.
Okala believes the game against the Cedars was a disappointing one despite having control of the game as he was not impressed, stressing that the outcome didn’t reflect Confluence Queens display.
“A very disappointing game, we had the game under control but football can be dynamic at times but I think it shows that type of dynamism in the game,” Sabo told Nigeriafootball.ng exclusively.
“So we just go back to the drawing board and see how we can correct the mistakes. I will say, that’s how today’s game went. I will say this is the only time we are conceding with wide margin, if not, it has been 1-0 or so.
“I don’t think that’s what happened, I believe we didn’t react on time today. Dannaz Ladies is a young promising side and I think what’s going on for them is determination.
“They are determined and I think that’s what is paying off for them. They have a very good prospect and determination, which they showed today. Definitely, we will be at the Super Six, I can guarantee you that. We will be at the Super Six.”
Confluence Queens still maintain its 14 points from nine matches as they slip to the fourth position on the NWFL Premiership group A.
