NWFL Premiership: Domo Okara blames Bayelsa Queens slip on loss of concentration
By Saheed Afolabi
Head coach of Bayelsa Queens, Domo Okara has admitted that his lost their Wednesday’s Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership match to Robo Queens due to lack of concentration.
The Prosperity Girls unbeaten run was brought to an end as the Lagos Landladies edged them 2-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
Domo insists they fought well by expecting a tough encounter but lost concentration at the critical moment of the match, while expressing disappointment over his poor second half display.
“You can never take it away from Robo because they are a very good side,” Domo told Nigeriafootball.ng exclusively.
“They fought very well and we expected it was going to be a tough game, though we lost concentration and they scored two quick goals and it was not supposed to be like that for my own team.
“There was a little bit of disconnect in the central defense area that led to their first goal, shortly after, they came back to score the second goal.
“So we started playing from behind and we are not used to playing from behind. It’s a good game. We have some players that we have not cleared, this is not our grade A game.
“They didn’t play to my expectations. All in all, we did fairly well.”
The Prosperity Girls ends the year 2023 on a losing note, marking their first defeat of the season.
