NWFL Premiership MD14 Wrap: Delta finish unbeaten as Robo complete Super Six cast

FC Robo Queens became the sixth team to qualify for the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six after a 4-0 win over Confluence Queens at Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Folashade Ijamilusi gave the Lagos Landladies a halftime lead before three more goals in the second half from Rukayat Shobowale, Rukayat Oladiti, and Ijamilusi’s second goal of the match sealed a consecutive big win at home.

In Keffi, Nasarawa Amazons’ 5-0 bashing of Adamawa Queens at Snake Farm Stadium, was inconsequential as Christopher Danujuma’s side couldn’t make it to the Super Six after a second-place finish last season.

Dooshima Tarnum bagged a have coupled with goals from Ayatsea Hembafan, Edeh Loveth, and Aweda Titilayo lifted the Solid Miners to a comfortable win.

At Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenegoa Bayelsa Queens recorded a 3-0 win against Naija Ratels FC thanks to first-half goals from Chinyere Igboamalau, Flourish Sabastine, and Cameroon import, Touuta Evannick.

In Asaba, Okah Adaobi’s 58th-minute equaliser ensured a 1-1 draw in the encounter between Delta Queens and Rivers Angels.

Damaris Favour had given Tosan Blankson’s side a 17th-minute lead before the second-half equalizer at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba. The result means the Asaba based outfit finished the season undefeated in 12 matches.

Ugobest Osuji scored the winning goal as Heartland Queens ended the season with a 1-0 victory over Royal Queens.

In Umuahia, Abia Angels and Edo Queens were forced to call off the match after 30 minutes of action due to weather constraints and the encounter will be concluded on Thursday morning from 8am.

FC Robo Queens with 22 points joined Edo Queens (22 points), and Confluence Queens (21 points) to qualify for the Super Six from Group B.

Delta Queens (26 points), Bayelsa Queens (25 points), and Rivers Angels (20 points) have already qualified for the Super Six ahead of the final match week of the regular season.
