Obafemi Martins: Nigeria legend celebrates widely as his son moves to Monza

Nigeria legend Obafemi Martins could not contain his joy and excitement as he ran around celebrating after his son, Kevin Maussi completed a move from Inter Milan to Monza on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
The Italian-born Nigerian youngster announced that he has made a switch from Inter Milan to start his professional football career with Monza via his official social media platforms.
Along with the photos was a message that said, “I thank everyone for their trust and for the warm welcome to this new family.”
The 17-year-old who is following the footsteps of his father, spent time at the Inter Milan’s developmental system.
Martins is one of the most successful Nigerian players,nicknamed Obagoal for his goal scoring prowess. He won titles in Italy, England and Russia while playing for Inter Milan, Newcastle United, Portsmouth and Rubin Kazan.
Obafemi won 42 caps for Nigeria and scored 18 goals, after making his debut in the Unity Cup back in 2004 and he was a part of the Super Eagles team that finished third in the 2006 AFCON and last played for Chinese club Wuhan before he retired earlier this year.
His son, Kevin has shown promise on several occasions and has the support of his dad.
The former Inter Milan forward took to his social media to celebrate his son’s move to Monza.
“Congratulations my son, I’m so proud of you. I wish you a long and successful career,” the post reads.
