Odion Ighalo congratulates Saudi Arabia after World Cup upset win over Argentina

Nigeria forward Odion Jude Ighalo has congratulated the Saudi Arabian national team after its impressive display in their opening Group C triumph over highly-rated Argentina.

Saudi Arabia were adjudged the underdogs ahead of Qatar 2022 Group C opener with Argentina on Monday.

Argentina on the other hand traveled to Qatar with 36 matches unbeaten streak as Lionel Messi had given Argentina the lead from the penalty spot in the tenth minute.

Harve Renard put up a fantastic tactical approach for Saudi Arabia as his team set up with three goals canceled for Argentina due to offside in the first half.

However, two goals in the second half from Saleh Al Sheri and Salem Al Dawsari propelled the Saudis to a 2-1 win over Argentina.

And the Nigerian forward who plays in the Saudi Pro League with Al Hilal, took to the social medial to congratulated the Saudis via his Instagram account.

“Congratulations Saudi Arabia,” Ighalo commented on his Instagram account.

Saudi Arabia tops Group C with three points ahead of Poland and Mexico with a point apiece while Argentina is bottom of the group after the opening set of games.
