By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Morecambe Wanderers have confirmed the acquisition of former Arsenal midfielder, Miguel Azeez in an undisclosed deal, arriving as the latest addition to the Shrimps team.

Born in England to a Nigerian father and a Spanish mother, Miguel Azeez is set to be available for selection, subject to receiving international clearance.

Once confirmed, he will don the number 8 shirt as he joins the Shrimps, adding depth and quality to the squad ahead of the upcoming fixtures.
“If I could put the shirt on right now I would, we all have the same ambition, which is to excite the fans,” Miguel stated in his first media duties with the club.

“We’ve been in a really tough situation and I feel like we all need to start enjoying our football again, including the fans.”

Ashvir, first team manager, spoke of his excitement of signing Miguel: “I’m really happy that Miguel decided to join us, there was interest from clubs all over Europe, competing in high leagues.”

“Once we presented the project to him, and what we want to achieve here, he turned down those offers to join us. It’s a true testament to what we’re trying to build here.

“I think he’s a player that the fans are gonna love, he’s got an incredible footballing brain, a midfielder that really controls the game and will always give his all,” he concluded.
