French Ligue 1 club RC Lens have confirmed the permanent signing of Nigerian forward Jeremy Agbonifo following a successful loan spell from Swedish side BK Häcken.
The 21-year-old striker impressed during his six-month stint with Lens, prompting the club to activate the purchase option included in his loan agreement.
Sporting Director Martin Ericcson expressed his satisfaction with the deal, describing Agbonifo as a perfect fit for the club’s long-term vision.
“Jeremy perfectly represents the type of player we want to develop,” Ericcson said. “His signing proves that our model is working — both on the pitch and in terms of financial strategy.”
Agbonifo, who previously played for FC Porto and had two separate spells at BK Häcken, brings valuable experience and potential to the Lens squad. His arrival is seen as a strategic investment in both footballing quality and future value.
The move highlights RC Lens’ commitment to identifying emerging talent and integrating them into a competitive team built on sustainable development.
Agbonifo is expected to play a key role in the upcoming Ligue 1 season as Lens aim to build on their recent domestic success and push for European qualification.
