LaLiga side Real Betis are exploring a summer transfer for Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who is expected to leave Leicester City following the club’s relegation from the English Premier League.
According to Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla, Betis have made initial enquiries about the Super Eagles vice-captain, who has a €7 million release clause in the three-year contract he signed with Leicester last summer.
The Spanish club are keen to strengthen their midfield ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, especially after finishing as runners-up in the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.
Ndidi is seen as a strong tactical fit for manager Manuel Pellegrini’s style of play.
Ndidi, 28, joined Leicester City from Belgian club KRC Genk in 2017 and has since made over 150 appearances for the Foxes, contributing 27 goals and multiple assists.
With his contract situation and Leicester’s current status in the Championship, a move this summer appears increasingly likely.
