Onome Ebi blasts bloggers over misconstruing her Paris 2024 Olympic outburst

By Monsurah Olatunji
Nigeria international Onome Ebi goes all out on bloggers dragging her name through the mud as she clarified her stance on social media.
After extending her congratulations to her friend, colleague, and legendary counterpart, Marta, for leading Brazil to the Olympics final despite her age (38), the Super Falcons defender has been met with numerous negative comments.
Many believed she was not happy with the team and the Federation following her omission from Nigeria’s list while a 38-year-old Marta made the list for Brazil.
Ebi took to social media to clarify as she emphasized that her comments were not intended to criticize the team or the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), but rather to address misinformation and speculation spread by bloggers.
She expressed her gratitude for the two decades she spent representing the team at different competitions.
“Your hate got nothing on me. Super Falcons will always be my team forever. I actually know who send you, but tell them I’m not the problem. All love ❤️ 🫡🇳🇬🙌. Na grace and hard work #20years is not a joke. Rest Mr.”
She further warned against misleading narratives, asserting that her words have been twisted to create unnecessary controversy.
“You want people to hate me & make it look like I’m desperate & fighting to still be with the Super Falcons, lolz 😂🤣, It’s 20 good years I’ve been there, and I’m happy and pleased with whatever decision taken. I’m a proud & hard-working Nigerian 💪🇳🇬⚽️”
