2022 Nigeria champions, Bayelsa Queens have unveiled three new players to the team fold as they prepare to reclaim the league title in the coming 2024-25 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership.
Oscar Precious joined from second-tier women’s league side Imo Striker Queens, after a fantastic display for her former team in the past two seasons.
Attacker Confidence Onen (Kwara Ladies) and midfielder Yinusa Zainab (DreamStar Ladies) are the other two players unveiled by the Yenegoa-based side.
Their performance at the just concluded 2024 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship attracted the interest of the Prosperity Girls.
“With the three new players, we are well prepared for the commencement of the league,” coach Ogbonda Whyte said.
“We have difficulty scoring goals the outgone season, but with the coming in of two strikers to add to the attacking force and one attacking midfielder, the Prosperity Girls are good to go.”
After winning the league in 2022, Bayelsa Queens dropped from second to third positions at the end of the 2023 and 2024 title-deciding Super Six.
