Nigerian international Osinachi Ohale scored on the wrong side of the post as her own added to Deportivo Alaves’ 7-1 defeat to Real Madrid on Sunday.
Ohale made her fourth appearance of the season and third start for the Spanish side as hope came rising when Camila Alejandra Saez Oyaneder gave Alaves the lead in the 27th minute, putting the visitors on a half-time lead.
In the 53rd minute, Super Falcons defender, unfortunately, put the ball at the net of her team’s net to gift Real Madrid’s equaliser.
Former Manchester City midfielder, Caroline Weir scored two goals in the 56th and 58th minutes respectively to increase Real Madrid’s lead to 3-1.
Esther Gonzalez Rodriguez bagged a hat-trick for the host before Caroline-Sophie Moller’s goal in the 85th minute completed a 7-1 win for Real Madrid.
The Super Falcons defender played for the duration of the game as her Alaves side played out its fourth straight defeat of the 2022/2023 Spanish Liga F season.
The team had lost its previous three league games to Madrid CFF (1-2), Atletico Madrid (1-0), and Villarreal (1-0) and seat bottom of the log without any point alongside newly promoted, Alhama.
Up next for Ohale and her team is Athletic Bilbao at the Estadio Mendizorrotza, Vitoria-Gasteiz on October 22.
Alaves has lost the last three meetings with Athletic Bilbao and will hope to end the losing streak in the league when they host the Basque side.
