Osmanlispor’s Umar Strikes Despite 10-Man Setback, Advances in Turkish Cup

In a resilient display of prowess, Nigerian forward Aminu Umar showcased his scoring acumen, propelling 10-man Osmanlispor to a commendable 1-1 away draw against Yeni Malatyaspor in the second leg of the Turkish Cup’s round of 32 on Wednesday. Despite an early setback with Tugay Kacar receiving a red card just a minute into the game, Osmanlispor secured progression into the next round with a 4-2 aggregate victory, following their 3-1 triumph in the first leg on November 28.

The match unfolded dramatically as Osmanlispor navigated the challenge of playing a man down. Aminu Umar seized the moment in the 19th minute, expertly finding the net and setting the tone for his team. However, Malatyaspor responded swiftly, leveling the score 1-1 merely seven minutes later through Eren Tozlu.

Sincere Seth, a notable figure in the U-23 Eagles and a bronze medalist in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, contributed to the intensity of the game while representing Malatyaspor.

Aminu Umar, having left an indelible mark on the match, was substituted in the 54th minute, making way for Ozer Hurmaci. With this latest goal, Umar’s tally for the season stands at three, including two league goals and a significant contribution in the Cup.
