By Monsurah Olatunji
Nigeria international Chiamaka Nnadozie has shared her excitement to represent the Super Falcons at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The 23-year-old kept all three matches as Nigeria bowed out from the group stages without earning a point.
The reigning African Goalkeeper of the Year gave an amazing performance in the opening game against Brazil denying scoring chances but being unable to maintain a clean sheet as they narrowly lost 1-0.
The Paris FC safe hand was confident facing world champions, Spain, in the second match and once again dropped a performance to be remembered which was marred by another 1-0 defeat.
In the last group match, she however conceded three goals against Japan as Nigeria suffered a 3-1 defeat and exited the tournament.
Despite this unremarkable outing for the team, Nnadozie is excited to share her inspiring journey from the streets of Akwakuma, Owerri, to the Olympic stage.
“A girl from Orlu who grew up in the street of Aakwakuma, Owerri became an Olympian,” she posted on X.
“Boys/girls, from the street, ghetto, listen, nothing is impossible. I give God all the glory.”
