Sevilla’s new Nigerian signee Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed how he got the popular nickname “Seniorman”.
The Super Eagles star recently completed his move from Leicester to Spanish side Sevilla on a free transfer following his contract expiration with the Foxes.
The 27-year-old is widely known by this nickname among his teammates and the Nigerian football community.
Iheanacho explained how the nickname came about and how it has stuck with him since.
“One day, Wilfred Ndidi, Daniel Amartey, and I were walking, and they started calling me ‘Senior Man’,” he said according to Sevilla’s website.
“We joked about it and made videos, and soon everyone began calling me that name.”
