Paris 2024 Olympics: FIFA name match officials for Nigeria vs Spain clash

World football governing body, FIFA, has named the officials for the highly anticipated game between Nigeria and Spain.

The match will take place at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday, July 28, at 6 pm Nigerian time.

The officiating team for this crucial encounter includes a trio from the USA: Tori Penso will serve as the center referee, while Brooke Mayo and Kathryn Nesbitt will officiate as Assistant Referee One and Assistant Referee Two, respectively.

Jamaican Odette Hamilton will be on the sideline as the fourth official.

Velasquez Pedro from Guatemala is appointed as the match director, with Jansses standing as the match commissioner.

The VAR duties will be handled by Valerie from Italy, assisted by Benbraham from Algeria.

The Super Falcons extended their winless run against Brazil with a 1-0 loss in their first game in Paris. This will be the first time both sides meet in a high-profile game.

Currently, the Falcons sit at the bottom of the Olympics Group C standings with no points.

Fans will be eager to see if Nigeria can bounce back and secure a crucial victory to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.
