SAFA has officially announced the venue for the highly anticipated home fixture between South Africa’s senior women’s national team and Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the upcoming two-legged fourth round Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifiers slated for April.

The prestigious Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria has been selected as the venue for the return leg, scheduled for Tuesday, 9th April.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm South Africa time (6:30 pm Nigeria time), promising an electrifying atmosphere for football enthusiasts.

The outcome of this crucial encounter between the African champions and the nine-time Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) winners will decide one of Africa’s representatives at the women’s football event of the Olympics this year.

South Africa has shown a formidable performance against Nigeria in recent meetings, remaining unbeaten against the Super Falcons in their last four encounters in regulation time.

Notably, Banyana Banyana secured a historic 1-0 victory against Nigeria in the opening group game of WAFCON 2018, followed by a narrow defeat in the final match.

In the 2021 Aisha Buhari Cup, South Africa emerged victorious with a convincing 4-2 win over Randy Waldrum’s side in Lagos.

Their most recent showdown during the group stage of WAFCON 2022 saw South Africa clinch a 2-1 victory, further solidifying their impressive track record against the Super Falcons.
