By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
For second year running, Remo Stars Ladies are crowned Ogun State FA Cup winners after a resounding 4-0 win over Castmog FA at Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode on Saturday.
Four goals from different players in the first half propelled the Sky Blue Stars to back-to-back State FA Cup triumphs.
Macarthy Adebisi scored the opener for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side in the 15th minute from a well taken free kick.
Three minutes later, Arubo Oluwaseyi doubled the lead from Subomi Ogundele’s assist.
Three minutes after the half hour mark, Blessed Isigbo made it 3-0 for Wemimo Mathew’s side.
In the 38th minute, it was the turn of Kafayat Bashiru who headed home Macarthy’s corner kick.
The win extended Remo Stars unbeaten run in all competitions this season to seven games including six in the league as they and Castmog FA will represent Ogun state at the women’s category of the 2025 President Federation Cup.
Last season, Remo Stars Ladies made their debut at the President Federation Cup and reached the semi finals only to surrender their title quest to Naija Ratels.
They hope to go one better at the President Federation Cup this year.
