Three Nigerians were on the field of play as Costa Adeje Tenerife pipped host, Valencia 2-1 in the Spanish Liga F women’s encounter on Sunday.

Three African players find the back of the net during the game at the Estadio Antonio Puchades, Valencia.

Morocco’s Yasmine Katie Mrabet scored the first goal of the game in the 13th minute with a header.

Monday had a heart hit the crossbar in the first half.

Incessant pressure by the travelers paid off seven minutes into the second half after Babajide converted a penalty with her left foot to equalize.

In the 90th minute, a good team play by Tenerife resulted in the winning goal.

Linnea Laupstad set up Monday, who scored the winning goal with another left-footed effort into the bottom part of the net.

She was replaced by Jassina Blom in the 92nd minute after scoring her 10th goal in 16 league games, coupled with an assist.

She has scored in five consecutive league games for Tenerife.

Babajide came off for Fatou Dembele in the 93rd minute as she scored her seventh goal in 15 league games.

Ezekiel Motunrayo replaced Phoenetia Browne in the 72nd minute for Valencia.

Costa Adeje Tenerife occupy the sixth position on the log with 29 points after 18 games.

They will next host Eibar on February 15, 2025.
