River United get CAF nod to use Adokie Amiesimeka Stadium for Confederation Cup

Rivers United will enjoy playing this year’s CAF Confederation Cup games at their traditional Adokiye Amiesimeka Stadium in Port Harcourt following approval from governing body.
The Nigerian representatives played all their 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup group stage games at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo due to substandard nature of their Port Harcourt stadium.
Having met the CAF requirement, the 2021/2022 Nigeria Premier Football League champions can now return to their home ground in Port Harcourt for their continental games.
They will face Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso on 17th September in Burkina Faso in the first leg qualification round before staging the second leg in Port Harcourt a week later.
