Rivers United Suffer Third Group-Stage Defeat in CAF Champions League

Rivers United suffered their third defeat of the group stage in the CAF Champions League after going down 1–0 to Zambian side Power Dynamos in Uyo on Sunday.

Both teams went into the Matchday Four encounter without a win and remained level at the break after an evenly contested first half.

The decisive moment arrived in the 50th minute, when Kondwani Chiboni found the net to give Power Dynamos a crucial victory on the road.

The result leaves the Pride of Rivers facing a daunting task in their bid to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.

Nigeria sole representative occupy the bottom position in their group with one point after four matches.

Rivers United will next travel to Egypt to take on Pyramids FC, before concluding their group campaign with an away fixture against RS Berkane in Morocco.
