Sadiq Umar completes loan move to Valencia

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria forward Sadiq Umar has joined Spanish La Liga side Valencia CF on loan from Real Sociedad for the rest of the 2024/2025 season.

The loan deal to the Mestalla is with an option to buy this summer.

The former Partizan player has not found the back of the net in the league this season after seven games.

He has scored four league goals in 35 games over three seasons for Real Sociedad.

The move gives him the chance of getting more playing time in the bis of helping Valencia beat the drop in La Liga.

Valencia will be the third Spanish team Umar is joining after Almeria and Real Sociedad.

The 27-year-old striker started his youth career at Kuso Boys and also played for Future of Africa and Spezia at a young age before making the first team of the latter in Italy.

He had loan spells with Lavagnese, AS Roma, Bologna, Torino, NAC Breda, Rangers, Perugia, and Partizan.

From Partizan, he joined Almeria and Real Sociedad, from where he is on loan at Valencia.
