Sammy Ameobi Secures Bolton’s KIA Player of the Month for October
Bolton Wanderers’ Nigerian-born forward Sammy Ameobi has earned the esteemed title of October KIA Player of the Month, as voted by the club’s dedicated fans. The Championship club made the announcement on Tuesday, highlighting Ameobi’s exceptional contributions throughout October.
Joining Bolton on a one-year deal from Newcastle United on July 14, 2017, the 25-year-old outshone competitors Gary Madine and Karl Henry to clinch the top spot. A statement released on Bolton’s official website described Ameobi’s impactful return from injury, noting that he scored three crucial goals as Bolton maintained an unbeaten streak throughout October.
“Marking his second home debut for the club with a goal in the Trotters’ 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, Ameobi was also on the scoresheet in away draws with Fulham and Sunderland,” the statement read.
Fans participated in the voting process on bwfc.co.uk, with Ameobi securing an impressive 69.3% of the vote, securing victory ahead of Gary Madine and Karl Henry, who claimed second and third place, respectively.
In addition to the accolade, fan Hannah Dobie emerged as the lucky winner of hospitality in the Platinum Suite through her voting participation. She will have the honor of presenting Ameobi with his well-deserved award at an upcoming Wanderers home game of her choice.
