Sao Tome and Principe set for revenge against Nigeria, says captain Luis Leal

Sao Tome and Principe captain Luis Leal has revealed his side is in Uyo to beat their hosts Nigeria.

The three-time African Nigeria will take on Sao Tome and Principe in their final Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The True Patriots are out of contention for the flagship African football tournament, but they will be looking to put up a fight and salvage what is left of their national pride.

Adriano Eusebio-led men were battered 10-0 in the reverse fixture in June 2022. Despite the gulf in class between both teams, Leal is however confident they can avenge their defeat to the Super Eagles this time around.

“We are here to thrash and humiliate the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo,” he boasted to Prompt News.
