Shooting Stars SC thrill Ibadan fans with historic rally ahead of NPFL season

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Ibadan came alive on Tuesday as Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) staged a colourful road rally to herald the start of the 2025/26 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, which kicks off on August 22.

The historic rally — the first of its kind in the club’s illustrious history — began at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, and wound through major streets of Ibadan.

It was a spectacle of colours, sounds, and passion, with trumpets, vuvuzelas, and talking drums echoing the pride of the Oluyole Warriors across the ancient city.

Unlike the traditional trophy parades reserved for champions, this initiative was designed to strengthen the bond between the club and its passionate fan base.

It offered supporters an opportunity to connect with their players and rally behind the team ahead of the new campaign.

Club Chairman Hon. Taiwo Lekan-Salami described the rally as a reflection of the ongoing transformation within Shooting Stars:

“This is more than football. It’s about reconnecting with our people and celebrating the identity of Ibadan through 3SC. We want our supporters to feel part of the journey as we prepare for the season ahead.”

The management also commended fans at home and abroad for their unwavering loyalty through thick and thin, reaffirming its commitment to making 3SC not just a football club, but a family that unites people through the beautiful game.

As the Oluyole Warriors march into a new season, optimism is high that this renewed spirit of togetherness, combined with the support of millions worldwide, will propel the team to greater success.
