Sunday Oliseh tasks Osimhen to choose Premier League over Galatasaray move

By Wale Mustapha

Former Nigeria head coach Sunday Oliseh has urged Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to prioritize a move to the English Premier League (EPL) amid reports of an impending transfer to Turkish champions Galatasaray.

Osimhen, 26, spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Galatasaray, where he played a pivotal role in their domestic double, finishing as the Turkish Super Lig’s top scorer.

The Turkish club has reportedly offered him a three-year permanent deal and is in negotiations with Napoli to finalize the transfer.

However, Oliseh believes Osimhen should push for a move to England, where top clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United have shown interest in recent windows.

“Victor Osimhen is at a very delicate crossroad,” Oliseh wrote on X.

“He needs to find his way to the Premier League in a hurry, or he risks so much regret! Man United and Arsenal need this player, if only.”

Osimhen has been linked with a Premier League move in recent years, particularly after his breakout 2022/23 campaign in Serie A, where he led Napoli to the Scudetto.

Despite his success in Italy and Turkey, questions remain over whether he will take the next step to one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.

The striker’s future now hinges on ongoing talks between Galatasaray and Napoli, while EPL clubs continue to monitor the situation closely.
