The Nigeria’s senior men’s national team players and officials have boycotted training in Morocco over unresolved issues regarding outstanding payments.

According to The Independent Mirror, the team, in a statement, confirmed that the entire squad—including officials—refused to train on Tuesday as they await a resolution from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

“The full squad, including officials, boycotted training today in Morocco due to unresolved issues over outstanding payments,” the statement read.

The players are hoping for a swift resolution to enable them to resume preparations ahead of Thursday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon.

On Thursday, Nigeria are set to face Gabon in a must-win encounter, but their build-up has been disrupted by the ongoing payment dispute.
