Super Eagles coach attends Kano Pillars vs Rangers NPFL match

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The head coach of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, Eric Chelle was at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Sunday.

He watched Kano Pillars play against the defending champions, Enugu Rangers.

It was a great chance for him to scout some of the NPFL’s best players.

The game ended 2-1 in favour of Kano Pillars as ageless Rabiu Ali and Jerry Alex scored for Sai Masu Gida.

Bashir Usman had equalised for Rangers from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute.

The game followed Chelle’s attendance as NPFL games in Lagos and Ikenne.

This is coming ahead of the release of Nigeria’a roster for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Uganda and Zimbabwe.

Super Eagles need victory in both games to resurrect their chance of qualifying for the next World Cup after missing out last time in 2022.
