In a bid to investigate the bonus row that marred Nigeria’s senior women’s national team campaign at the just concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand, the Nigeria Football Federation is set to make another appearance before the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee on the investigation on Thursday.
In a press release by the Federal House House of Representatives, National Assembly, Abuja, this will be the second appearance of NFF before the committee in two days.
The committee was assigned with the onus to investigate the unpaid bonuses and allowances of the Super Falcons.
Chaired by Honourable Blessing Onuh Onyeche, the committee has expressed their disappointment, describing the bonus row scenario as an affront to the House of Representatives.
The NFF President and his Executive Member failed to appear with the General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi to make further clarification on the bonus issues making it imperative for another appearance.
According to the Chairman of the Committee, the NFF President cited ill health as an excuse before the House but was strong enough to go on jamboree to the FIFA Women’s World Cup final when his house was on fire.
NFF is expected to explain how the monies disbursed by the Federal Government for the participation of the team at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup were spent.
