Super Falcons in Group B ahead of WAFCON 2024 draw

Nine-time African champions Nigeria will be in Group B ahead of Friday’s draw for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Super Falcons, according to draw procedures announces by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), were seeded in Level 1 alongside host, Morocco and holders South Africa.

Host, Morocco will automatically go to Group A taking the A1 position.

Nigeria as the most successful team as far as the tournament is concerned and haven attended all editions will take B1 position in Group B.

Holders, South Africa will occupy C1 position in Group C.

Zambia, Ghana, and Tunisia are in Level 2 while Mali, Senegal, and Algeria are seeded in Level 3.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Tanzania, and Botswana complete Level 4.

12 teams participate in the next WAFCON in Morocco from July 5 to July 28, 2025.

South Africa won their maiden title in 2022 with a 2-1 win over host, Morocco joining Nigeria and Zambia in qualifying for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
