Taiwo Awoniyi has pledged his full commitment to helping Nottingham Forest avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.
The Nigerian striker, who has struggled with injuries during the campaign, acknowledged that the final stretch of the season will be decisive for the club’s survival hopes.
Forest have endured an inconsistent run and now find themselves locked in a tense battle to remain in the top flight with only a handful of matches left.
Speaking ahead of the run-in, Awoniyi stressed the importance of unity within the squad as they push for safety.
“I think these last seven games will be vital for the club. It’s not just about me; it’s about the entire squad. Everyone understands our position and what is required of us,” he said.
The former Union Berlin forward also highlighted the broader implications of relegation, noting that the impact goes beyond football.
“A relegation battle is something you never want to experience. When you consider the business side of the game, many people could lose their jobs, and the fans will be devastated.
“My only focus is doing whatever I can to make people happy. I will give my absolute best,” he added.
Awoniyi’s return to fitness is expected to provide a significant boost for Nottingham Forest as they seek the crucial points needed to secure their Premier League status.
