Bayelsa United coach, Deprieye Teboiwei is looking beyond the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 4 campaign.
Teboiwei led Bayelsa United to win the 2022 Aiteo Cup (FA Cup) which qualified the team for the 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup and guided them to gain promotion to Nigeria Professional Football League from second tier.
Despite missing claiming the NNL Super 4 title, Bayelsa United ended as runners up after winning a game against El Kanemi Warriors (2-0), drawing 0-0 with Doma FC and suffering a 1-0 defeat to Bendel Insurance.
And the amibitious coach is looking at the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as he opined that Bayelsa United will be gunning for the league title.
“Everybody has a vision. Before we won the FA Cup last year, I always say that we might likely win it and we won it. This year when we started, I said my vision is Bayelsa for promotion and we picked a promotion ticket,” Coach Teboiwei told Brila FM.
“This year I have told them that Bayelsa United will qualify for the continent or win the league. As a coach, I have a vision and I know that I am on a mission. I work strategically to achieve my vision with the help of God. We are well prepared.”
The team topped Group B2 with 44 points after 24 games to seal a promotion ticket to the NPFL and the kick off date for the 2022/2023 NPFL season is yet to be announced by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the league.
