Nigeria champions, Delta Queens will be debuting at the Wafu B Zonal Champions League Qualifiers for a place at the CAF Champions League in Ivory Coast.
The regional showpiece scheduled to kickoff in Benin on Sunday August 20 will see the Pearls start their campaign against USFA from Burkina Faso before locking horns with Sam Nelly on August 25 in the three teams group.

CHINAZA AGOH
Chinaza Agoh, the Most Valuable Player of the NWFL Premiership 2023/2024 season seems to be the most skillful forward in the Delta Queens rank.
Her meteoric rise and performance for the club last season thereby scoring seven goals with most crucial one coming in the NWFL Premiership Super Six final where she came off the bench to score a brace that eventually won the league title for the club. One of Agoh focal strength is the ability of making her moves unpredictable for defenders.
MERCY OMOKWO
Goal poacher, Mercy Omokwo took her goal scoring exploits to another level to win the highest goal scorer of the season with nine goals in 15 matches. The prolific forward will be banking on the defense unlocking passes from the Delta Queens midfield to punish opponents who dare come here way.
Omokwo strength lies in her power play, pace and prolificacy in front of goal.
TAIWO AFOLABI
The midfield maestro was just named the captain of Delta Queens due to her inspiring performance for the club. During the past NWFL Premiership season, the U17 FIFA Women’s World Cup bronze medalist had six assists and scored one goal for her side during their run to the league title.
Afolabi’s good chemistry with the forward line will be crucial to Delta Queens triumph in Benin.
JOY MICHEAL
Defense marshall, Joy Micheal was the rock of Delta Queens defense in the 2022/2023 season with her leadership and defensive abilities to shun off opposing attacks.
Michael’s strength lies in aerial ball and good marking traits as her opponent dislikes going through her part. She was in action for the duration of the league last season without seating a game.
Joy will provide the defensive wall for Delta Queens to defeat their opponents at the Wafu B Zonal qualifiers.
ANDERLINE MGBECHI
Striker converted to a goalkeeper, Anderlin Mgbechi has been the biggest revelation of the season for Delta Queens, her mouthwatering saves were instrumental to Delta Queens winning the league title. She capped her impressive season with national team call up to the Super Falconets at the Wafu B U20 Cup.
Mbechi contributed to her team’s success last season with keeping nine clean sheets to her name and conceded the least number of goals to win the best goalkeeper of the season without any fuse.
