Tolu Arokodare on target in Genk’s debut as Gent bow despite Yira Sor’s effort

Nigerian duo Yira Sor and Tolu Arokodare were on the scoresheet in Genk’s 3-2 victory over Gent on Sunday.
Arokodare, who was signed on deadline day to replace Paul Onuachu made his debut off the bench to score the matchwinner for the league leaders in a five-goal thriller.
It only took the hosts nine minutes of action to take the lead as Hyun-Seok Hong fires home. But Genk’s West African trio refused to back down to fill the void left by their goal machine Onuachu.
Ghanaian forward, Jo Paintsil levelled the affair on the 26th minute before Yira Sor doubled the lead in the 66th minute.
New signing Arokodare came of the bench and only needed 21 minutes to bag a goal in the 86th minute, before Laurent Depoitre reduced the deficit with two minutes of regular time remaining.
The 22-year-old’s proved to be the winner to help Genks go 10 points clear on the log as the Blauw-Wit picked up their fourth win in their last five games.
