Toni Payne: Nigeria forward bags third assist of the season in Sevilla back-to-back wins

Nigerian forward Toni Payne bagged her third assist of the 2022/2023 top-flight Spanish Liga to help Sevilla to a 2-0 triumph over newly promoted Alhama on Sunday.
Sevilla had lost two of its opening three league games and drew the other before earning a 5-0 win over Villarreal last weekend.
After a goalless first half, Payne in the 70th minute assisted Spanish forward Cristina Martin-Prieto Gutierrez who converted the opening goal of the game.
Cristina Martin-Prieto Gutierrez in 90th minute scored Sevilla’s second goal to hand the host a 2-0 win.
The Nigeria international saw 91 minutes of action before she was replaced by Spanish midfielder, Eva Llamas after providing her third assist of the season.
The former Ajax player is an integral part of Nigeria’s women’s national team and participated at the Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco where Nigeria picked one of four automatic tickets for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
The Super Falcons star is in her fifth season at Sevilla after her move from Ajax in the 2018/2019 season. Sevilla occupy the ninth position on the Spanish Liga F log with seven points after five games.
The team will next square up against third-placed Real Madrid on October 30, 2022 after earning back-to-back victories for the first time in the league this season.
