Transfer: Ola Aina set to quit Torino this summer

Nigeria defender Olaoluwa Aina is set to leave Serie A club, Torino on a free transfer this summer.
According to an Italian publication, Calciomercato, the Nigeria international has informed Torino he will not be renewing his contract which will expire next month.
Aina has been a major member of the Torino side since he arrived from Premier League giants, Chelsea first on loan in 2018 and he is in his fourth season with the Italian top-flight side since he joined the team.
The former Chelsea player was on loan at Fulham for the 2020/2021 season before returning to Torino.
The 26-year-old has scored two League goals during his time at Torino helping the team maintain its league status.
In May 2017, Aina pledged his international future to Nigeria and obtained a Nigerian passport in preparation for making the switch from England to Nigeria.
In the same month, he was called up for the first time to play for Nigeria.
In May 2018 he was named in Nigeria’s preliminary 30-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. However, he did not make the final 23.
Aina was later recalled into the squad and played a major role in the team’s qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt. He played the first match against tournament debutant Burundi, assisting the only goal of the match as Nigeria later won bronze medal at the tournament.
