Nigerian chess icon Tunde Onakoya recently caught up with Super Eagles and Atlético Madrid forward Ademola Lookman following the club’s thrilling 4–2 victory over RCD Espanyol at the weekend.
Lookman was among the standout performers in the encounter, scoring a brilliant header as Atlético secured an emphatic win.
Sharing the special moment afterward, Onakoya reflected on the connection between brilliance on the chessboard and magic on the football pitch. He revealed that he presented Lookman with a chessboard in celebration of his excellence and growing influence as one of Africa’s finest footballers.
